a restaurant offering chimchum, new concept of food where you can have steamboat and grill in one pot – and prepare it just the way you like it.Whether to have the meat grilled or boiled in the chicken broth, the dish offers a healthy and delicious meal amidst a cozy ambiance.
NYPA HUT is located at Lot 153 D & E, Jalan Ketoyong, 35900, Tanjung Malim, Perak. Its situated opposite the TG MALIM train station and in the Elite Park, where the one and only futsal court (Elite Futsal) is also located. Next to the Chinese School, behind the mosque and near the residential areas. NYPA HUT is also located near UPSI (Sultan Idris University of Education/ Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris), the country’s renown university dedicated for teaching profession.

THE NAME
Nypa (nipah) is a species of mangrove that provides countless usage for nature as well as human. It is found along the muddy brackish area.
NYPA HUT restaurant is wholly owned by Rizofora Enterprise.
FOOD CONCEPT
The main offering is chimchum – a Thai origin food where one can grill and make steamboat in one pot. Diners can grill the meat on the top portion of the pot and let the vegetables cook in the soup. The all-you-can-eat spread for chimchum includes chicken, beef, transparent noodle (soohoon), chinese cabbage, kangkung, green onion, baby corn, mushrooms, chinese parsley (daun sup) and fishballs.

Diners can dip the grilled meat in several homemade sauces – each with its own distinct flavour of chilli spicy, sour, salty and sweet to awaken all the tastebuds. One can choose the combination of flavour that they like – whether its spicy or sour, sweet or salty. It is fun to experiment and come up with different flavours to suit one’s liking while at the table. One can also add the sauces into the soup, in their own individual bowl to get their own ‘tom-yam’ flavour broth to savour with the grilled meat or boiled vegetables.
SIDE DISHES
In addition to chimchum, diners who purchase the all-you-can-eat meal can also enjoy side dishes including plain rice, meat dish, kerabu, som tam, friend noodles/meehoon/lontong. fruits, bubur, agar-agar/pudding (not all dishes are available on the same day). There is also nasi lemak panas with sambal for those who cant do without rice.
Those who prefer to have just nasi lemak instead of CHIMCHUM can enjoy it with sambal, telur goreng (bulleyes) or with our special must-try “ayam goreng berempah”.
CHIMCHUM is available for dinner only (from 6pm-midnight) PRICED at RM9.90 per person and RM5 for children aged between 7-12.
During lunch visitors can enjoy combination of Authentic Siamese dishes like laprik, padped, kerabu ikan bilis, as well as local spread (nasi campur style) which include gulai lemak pucuk ubi, gulai nangka muda ikan masin, gulai terung ikan masin, gulai labu, gulai lemak kobis, terung masak sambal, sambal tempe, pecal, kerabu, variety of ulam and sambal, ikan goreng, rendang, kari ayam/daging, gulai lemak cili padi ikan/ayam, rebus daging cicah air asam, ikan keli sambal, telur goreng, ikan masin, ikan bakar cicah air asam & telur asin.
Variety of bubur and fried items like pisang, karipap & keledek are available during tea time.
Ala carte dinner is also available after 4pm which includes fried meehoon, koey teow, rice and variety of Thai dishes like a must have tom yam.
